Forest Essentials Eladi Teenage Day Cream Review

Eladi day cream is part of Forest Essential’s new range and is meant for teenagers to tackle their teenage skin problems.
I’m sure this could suit anybody with skin problems just as well and I picked one up since I was in dire need of a day cream with SPF.

A lil on Eladi Cream:

Eladi Thailam is an Ayurvedic hair oil used for skin conditions.
It is used in treatment for skin diseases like allergic dermatitis, ring worm infection, urticaria.
It is also used to improve skin complexion and texture.
It is used for external application for skin detox treatment.

What does FE have to say about this cream:

“According to the Kashyap Samhita, an ancient scripture of Ayurveda, a woman is known as Yuwati from 13 years onwards. Eladikeram day cream with SPF 30 is enriched with Mukta Pishti specially designed to regulate sebum production, balance and hydrate the skin while protecting it from environmental damage. The precious Keshi or Petal pearls are hand pounded to the right consistency with pure Rosewater to create the Mukta Pishti, which is then infused with powerful Ayurvedic preparations including Eladikeram, Rajat (Silver) Bhasma and Yasad (Zinc) Bhasma which help to clear blemishes and unclog pores to give a flawless glowing skin”

I was looking for a day moisturizer with SPF and this cream had the added benefit of Eladi in it.

It was like a no brainer purchase and I also imagined this would improve my complexion and fade away acne scars.

The cream smells herbal, I’m not a fan of this scent and is greenish in color. I was sold looking at the impressive ingredient list. Eladi cream contains Mukta Pishti, Rajat Bhasma and Yasad Bhasma.
Seriously where will you find another day cream with these ingredients?

For those of you who don’t know:

Mukta Pishti  is an Ayurvedic medicine, prepared from Pearl.
Rajat Bhasma is an Ayurvedic supplement prepared from Silver. It is known to improve skin complexion.
Yashad Bhasma is an Ayurvedic medicine prepared from Zinc. Zinc is a natural sunblock.

My Experience:

I don’t have sensitive skin but whenever I apply this cream there is this slight tingling sensation on my skin. Nothing bothersome, so I ignored it.
This cream feels a bit greasy, you need to apply very little and give it sometime to sink in.
I don’t see this working for me during summers. It wouldn’t compliment my combination skin.
I used this for good 3-4 months daily as a morning moisturizing routine before work.
I have to say I haven’t found anything exceptionally different with my skin.
It doesn’t glow or look even toned to me. I still have marks and get acne on and off.
I’m not sure if this cream has done anything for me.
I might sound like I’m being too critical but I have seen results with other creams. I used to use Lush vanishing cream and  I could actually see marks and pigmentation fade away; leaving my skin visibly clear and even toned.

I don’t hate this cream but I don’t love it either. I don’t have a lot of acne or skin problems so I cannot comment on how good this could be for clearing acne or in keeping it at bay.
I assume it would do the job.

Given the impressive list of ingredients I had high expectations. It just ended up being a regular moisturizer. I wouldn’t repurchase it. I think they have better creams to try out.
