Ola Lovelies!!
Think its very obvious that I'm hopelessly in love with Lush and their products are so unique and unmatched that I don't think I will ever grow out of them ♥♥
Today I'm going to review the ever famous Mask of Magnaminty and this is the very first mask that I tried from Lush!
TBH I just picked this one up because it was talked about so much and in comparison to the fresh face masks this had a much longer shelf life!
What does Lush say about this mask?
"Easily smoothed over the skin, this mask is made with peppermint oil to stimulate, marigold oil and chlorophyllin to treat the skin; evening primrose seeds and aduki beans to gently exfoliate as you wash it away. There’s mineral rich kaolin to nourish, honey for its antibacterial properties, and we used just the right amount of peppermint oil to stimulate blood cells under the surface of your skin and leave your skin looking bright and refreshed."

Whenever I look at Lush's ingredients list it leaves me with a reassuring feeling. I know what I will be putting on my face and this stuff is actually going to be good for me and a notch above my own DIY.
Lets have a closer look at some key ingredients that caught my attention:
Bentonite Gel:
Bentonite gel is a unique ingredient that lush uses as the base for this mask. It absorbs grease and dirt from the skin, while tightening at the same time, smoothing out fine lines. It is deeply cleansing and gently tones the skin. It gives a wonderful slip and feel to the product, which makes it easy to apply.
Aduki Beans:
Aduki Beans:
Another star ingredient in this mask and something that I've noticed that only Lush uses is Aduki Beans. They are native to China and Japan and known as the "King of Beans". Aduki beans here is used to absorb excess dirt and oil from the skin. They polish the skin, leaving it healthy and renewed.
Evening Primrose Seeds:
Evening Primrose Seeds:
Evening primrose seeds are a natural exfoliating agent, with
anti-inflammatory and skin soothing properties. It is another super-food that
has endless health benefits.
Peppermint Oil:
Peppermint Oil:
Peppermint oil is the reason behind the brilliantly cooling
effect this mask has on your skin. It is known to enliven the skin and senses. Peppermint
oil contains menthol, which is thought to generate the cooling sensation by dilating
the blood vessels and stimulating sensory nerve endings.
Chlorophyll:
So what exactly is Chlorophyll?
Chlorophyll is found in plants. It uses energy from the light
to fix carbon dioxide into carbohydrate and then uses this in order to grow.
Studies have suggested that chlorophyll helps balance skin’s sebum production. The
chlorophyll Lush uses is extracted from alfalfa grass. This grass was used in Arabia
as food for their horses before it came to Europe in the 1600s. Due to
its excellent mineral, vitamin and amino acid content, alfalfa is highly
beneficial for the skin. It is rich in chlorophyll, making it ideal for
extraction. It is GMO free. It also creates a distinctive green colour in the
mask giving a natural alternative to synthetic colours.
My Experience π
I purchased this mask on a whim. When I first applied it I could instantly sense the cooling minty sensation on my skin. The peppermint in this mask is pretty strong. The texture was easy to spread and there were no fall outs. I have purchased both the self preserving option and the preserved option; personally I like the self preserving option better as they add more honey in it and the mask doesn't dry out in the pot. I keep it on for 20-30 mins and then wash it off with some lukewarm water. My face shines like a light bulb every time I use this mask.
My face was bright, light and smoothπππ
This mask is a must buy ππ
This investment was totally worth it π
Need a savior for your face? Go ahead and buy this, I promise you won't regret it!!
Till then...
