Now Smell This-- Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede Perfume!!
X: What's your favorite perfume?
Me: Ummmm... Guilty for now.
X- Not Bad. I like Guilty too.. but my fav one is Madmoiselleπ
Me- I don't think I love any perfume enough to call it my favorite.
X- Just stares at me with a weird face.
I have been in this place for the longest time until I stumbled upon Jo Malone Peony and Blush suede. It's a funny story though. I loved Loccitane's Cherry Blossom EDP and wanted something similar with better spillage and lasting power. I googled my way through so many scents and dupes for it and somewhere on a random website I found a comment left behind to check out Jo Malone's Cherry Blossom version. Cherry Blossom however is a limited edition version and the closest scent they have to cherry blossom is Peony and Blush Seude.
I'm so glad I took some time off and popped into their store at Mall of the Emirates. A quick glance at the store and I knew this was going to be an expensive purchase. Funny how visuals tell you so much about the product.
I sniffed a couple of their cult scents namely Lime Basil, Red Roses, Tuberose, Velvet Rose and Oud and then landed on Peony...... my mood began to change, it felt like I finally found my scent...OMG this was instant love.
It was created by Master Perfumer, Christine Nagel, with the primary ingredients being: top note of red apple, heart of peony and base note of suede. In more detail:
- The top notes are red apple, fresh almond and bergamot
- The heart notes are peony, jasmine sambac, rose, and gillyflower
- The base notes are suede, patchouli and amberwood.
It's not surprisingly floral when you first spray it but when it settles you will smell the well balanced leathery notes mixed with the floral notes and you will inevitably be transported to perfume heaven. All you will want is to smell of it from dusk to dawn.
This stuff is pure love ππππ
There is a huge drawback though, it's crazy expensive AED 685 for a bottle plus VAT and it doesn't last long at all. Max maybe two to three hours. Duty Free does have it cheaper but its still not pocket friendly. If you do buy; it will be one of your most loved perfumes I promise π
